Some time ago we were contacted by a client who wanted to find out more about his grandfather. He knew his name, surname, date of birth, place of birth – Poznań, and his mother’s name. After a short research, we found out that he was not actually from Poznań but a village in Poznań area. We also learned that the client’s father took part in the September 1939 campaign and was a prisoner of war. Once he had his place of birth and the names of his parents confirmed, we managed to find his birth record and the vital records pertaining to his siblings, parents and trace further generations. We also decided to visit the village he was born in to look for family graves and even maybe living relatives. No relatives lived there but at least we found a grave of his relatives and proved that they lived there.
