Day 1 & Day 2
During the first 2 days of the tour we have experienced the mysterious story of the city of Kings, crows and dragons – Cracow. It is a city of many identities as Poles, Germans, Jews, Austrians, Moravians and representatives of other nations lived there for centuries… Starting from the Underground Museum and concluding our city tour on the second day on Kazimierz district we got to know all the most interesting facts and legends concerning this great city.
Day 3
On the 3rd day of our trip we visited the most picturesque cites of Cracow County. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska represents a special union between nature and sacred architecture as the natural landscape was used as the setting for a symbolic representation in the form of chapels and avenues. Afterwards we moved to Wieliczka salt mine, an enormous mining complex with around 120 miles of underground corridors, a chapel, a museum and a restaurant inside! Then we continued our trip to Nowy Wiśnicz castle, a small beautiful castle from the XIV century with rich architectural and painting decor.
Day 4
We have focused on finding as many details about Żarkowski family as possible. With this purpose we have traveled to Lipnica and Wola Razinowska villages where we visited churches and cemeteries. We contacted the local grave digger from Wola Raniżowska in order to help us at the cemetery. It turned out that he knew Żarkowski family, so he showed us their former house and their graves. What a great help.
Day 5 & Day 6
We have spent day 5 and day 6 in Zakopane – a capital of Polish highlanders. We hiked up and down the rocky paths of Kasprowy Wierch and marveled the beauty of Morskie Oko (Sea Eye) lake surrounded by the highest peaks of Tatra mountains. After delicious traditional dinner we had to get back to Airport and say goodbye to Poland.
