Day 1 April 4, 2022 Monday

  • Flight to Poland. You can choose one of the departure places:
  • New York, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)  or Chicago, O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

Day 2 April 5, 2022 Tuesday

  • Welcone to Warsaw, Poland!
    After checking into a hotel we invite you for a walk around the Old Town of Warsaw which will end by the Royal castle. The center of the city was destroyed in nearly 85% during WW2 but was carefully and beautifly rebuilt by the nation and it is now a Unesco World Heritage Site.

  • In the evening, we invite you for a welcome dinner during which traditional Polish food will be served.

Day 3 April 6, 2022 Wednesday

  • Today we explore the Old Town of Warsaw with a visit to the Royal Castle which was first built there in the 14th century. Starting from the 1500s, during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, it became a royal residence. Destroyed at the end of WW2, it was reopened in 1984. Then we walk along the elegant street of Krakowskie Przedmiescie admiring the Presidential Palace, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Saski Park.

  • We spend the rest of afternoon in the largest park in Warsaw that occupies 76 hectares of the city center and is called Łazienki (litterally: Baths). The park-and-palace complex was originally designed in the 17th century as a baths park for one of the noble families. Since 1918 the public park “Łazienki” has been visited by tourists from all over Poland and the world and now serves as a venue for music, art, and culture. The whole complex brings you back in time to the great history of Polish Kingdom.

Day 4 April 7, 2022 Thursday

  • In the morning we visit The Warsaw Uprising Museum a tribute to those who fought and died for independent Poland and its capital. Opened on the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of fighting, it is considered as the best museum in Poland. The exhibition shows the struggle of everyday life before and during the Uprising, and the horror of occupation – till the post-war communist terror in Poland.

  • Lunch served in a traditional Polish Folk-Inn, located in a former Jewish Ghetto – a nice introdution to the history of that place. Now it is a business district of Warsaw, before the war it was mostly inhabited by Jews. From 1940 it became the largest of all the Jewish ghettos in Nazi-occupied Europe during WWII. During the walk, we can see remains of the Ghetto Wall and other important places related to the history of “hell on Earth” as it was called by eye-witnesses.

Day 5 April 8, 2022 Friday

  • We leave Warsaw and head to Krakow. On the way there we stop in Czestochowa and visit a monastery on Jasna Gora. It is a spiritual capital of Poland and a destination for religious pilgrims from many countries from all over the world. The Monastery dominates over the whole city. Its most important treasure is an icon of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa. The monastery was founded by Prince Władysław in 1382.

  • After lunch we drive to Krakow. We spend the evening in the old town of former capital city of the Kingdom of Poland. We can streach our legs walking around the magnificent market square or you can just enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the city’s charming little restaurants.

Day 6 April 9, 2022 Saturday

  • After breakfast we see the Wawel Castle – the most important residence of Polish kings. In 1138, Kraków became the capital of Poland and the Wawel’s Cathedral became the coronation place of the Polish kings. Three dynasties made their home at Wawel – a splendid Renaissance royal residence and a courtyard placed high on the hill.

  • In the afternoon we drive to Wieliczka – famous for the salt mine that is a unique place in the history of mining as rock salt deposits were mined continiuosly from the 13th to the end of the 20th century. The scale of excavation in this mine is very large, with corridors, galleries, and chambers, as well as underground lakes, in total more than 120 miles in length.

Day 7 April 10, 2022 Sunday

  • After breakfast & checking out we drive to the town of Oświęcim to see Auschwitz-Birkenau-the largest of the concentration camp complexes created by the Nazi German regime and the one which combined extermination with forced labor. Between the years 1942-1944 it became mass extermination camp where Jews, Poles, Hungarians and many other nations were tortured and killed for their so-called racial origins.

  • The rest of the day we spend in the Old Town of Krakow. We visit Mariacki catherdral, the Barbakan fortified outpost, the Florianska gate. We walk by the Royal Road, the coronation route traversed by the kings of Poland and many more.

Day 8 April 11, 2022 Monday

  • In the morning we leave Krakow and drive to Nowy Sącz – one of the oldest Polish towns. In the suburbs of the city, we visit an open-air museum where the traditional Polish architecture is preserved on almost 20 hectares. We have an extraordinary chance to see both poor village cottages and the country estates. Most of the houses are over 2 or 3 hundred years old!

  • In the evening we get to Zakopane located in the Tatra Mountains. The town is known as ‘the winter capital of Poland.‘ It is a wonderful place if you love skiing but it is also beautiful in spring and summer.
    Free time , walk along the Krupowki street. Dinner in local higllander’s restaturant.

Day 9 April 12, 2022 Thursday

  • Today we visit Morskie Oko (literally ‘Sea Eye’) the largest lake in the Tatra Mountains. It is surrounded by the mountains so the scenery is picture perfect. We take a horse carriage ride to the lake (the ride takes about one hour one way).

  • Before we leave Zakopane we have a traditional lunch. You must try this exceptional cusine and enjoy local dishes before we head west to Wrocław, capital city of Lower Silesia. The evening welcomes us in this beautiful city.

Day 10 April 13, 2022 Thursday

  • In the morning we visit Wrocław’s beautiful Old Town with the famous Market Square. You find out more about the history of city and its role over the centuries. The lunch will be served in the oldest restaurant in Europe called piwnica Swidnica. The restaurant was set up in 1273 over 700 years ago! In the afternoon we admire Panorama Racławicka – a monumental cycloramic painting depicting the Battle of Racławice (4 April, 1794).

  • Before we leave we have lunch in the restaurant at the Cetennial Hall. A landmark in the history of reinforced concrete architecture, it was erected in 1911-1913. The Hall is a pioneering work of modern engineering and architecture, which exhibits an important interchange of influences in the early 20th century. It became a key reference in the later development of reinforced concrete structures. Is is a perfect palce to have a sip of tea in the park scenery.

Day 11 April 14, 2022 Thursday

  • We check out from the hotel but before we leave the city we must visit Ostrów Tumski. A former island between the branches of the Odra river. It was the place where the city started. The first wooden church was built there in the 10th century. Today this palce full of old buildings – churches, seminary building and cathedral. You can feel here exceptional climate of the city.

  • In the afternoon we take the bus trip to Warsaw for overnight.

Day 12 April 14, 2022 Thursday

  • Final day in Warsaw. We get back to the city where our trip started. The last glance at the capital city of Poland, free time, shopping and relaxing before departure.
  • Departure to Chicago (ORD) and New York (JFK) from the Chopin Airport in Warsaw
